Artist Statement

Focusing primarily on the unseen, unrevered and unspoken, my creative work delves into the connections between the biological principles of the material world and the psychological manifestations which simultaneously stem from and perpetuate those principles.

Planet earth houses a procession of creatures, and its countless remarkable inhabitants continually perform an orderly and chaotic symphony of meaningful absurdities. Which evokes more terror within our human minds, a swim within a dense sea of odious insects or an examination of the beastly hordes which wriggle and writhe within ourselves? My most recent series of work aimed to examine, spotlight and honor the alluringly exquisite creeps who modestly persist beneath the surface of things, and irrefutably contribute far more to the wellbeing of their surroundings than humans do.

My current series of work sets out to examine and visually demonstrate uninvited psychological manifestations, calling attention to that which endures beneath the surface- within the subconscious realm of our human minds.
